The Hood River-White Salmon Interstate Bridge will be closed to all vehicle traffic for several nights in April for replacement of the lift span motors. This work requires a large crane lift of heavy equipment to the top of both lift span towers.

Motorists should expect intermittent single-lane closures of both travel lanes of the Hood River/White Salmon Interstate Bridge beginning on Monday, March 25 and lasting through Friday, April 26 for electrical upgrades and installation of new motors associated with the lift span.

Project staff are reaching out to Columbia River vessel owners and operators in February and March to gain information on size and types of vessels that transit under the Hood River-White Salmon Bridge. Information is needed to ensure the replacement bridge will continue to allow for commerce and recreation up and downstream of the bridge.
