Draft Environmental Assessment Available
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the Port of Hood River announce the availability of the Draft Environmental Assessment (Draft EA) for the proposed Airport Improvement Projects at the Ken Jernstedt Airfield in Hood River, Oregon for public review and comment. The Draft EA examines the potential environmental impacts of the proposed series of airport improvement projects designed to improve airport safety and efficiently accommodate current and anticipated based aircraft interest at the airport and to correct non-conforming facilities on the north apron area. The project purpose would be accomplished through apron taxi-lanes reconfiguration, construction of hangar buildings and aircraft and helicopter parking areas, new fueling area, earthwork, utility installation, and drainage improvements.
The Draft EA will be available for public review and comment beginning on August 4, 2018. Draft EA copies may be viewed during regular business hours at the following locations:

Public Comment Period
Public comment on this document is invited for a 30-day period extending from August 4, 2018, through September 3, 2018. The purpose of the Public Comment period is to allow comments on the adequacy of the Draft EA for the proposed Airport Improvement projects at the Ken Jernstedt Airfield. While you can ask in your comment to withhold from public review any personal identifying information, we cannot guarantee that we will be able to do so.
