Centennial Bridge Celebration

On August 20, 2024, Port of Hood River Commissioners passed resolution No. 2024-25-3, resolving to designate December 6, 2024 as “The Hood River Bridge Centennial Anniversary”. Built in 1924, The Hood River White Salmon Interstate bridge has connected the communities of the gorge for one hundred years, and to celebrate the historic occasion, the Port will be hosting a celebration on Sunday, October 6, 2024. The Port will suspend bridge tolls for the day, offer free parking on Port properties and host a Centennial celebration for the community. In cooperation with the Hood River History Museum from 9:00am until 3:00pm on Marina Green, local musicians and food vendors, community partners and historic cars are all on the program to entertain guests. From 9:30am until 12:30pm, the bridge will close to vehicular traffic and pedestrians will be allowed to walk the bridge from 10:00am until 12:00pm, taking a stroll through history. To walk the bridge, community members can RSVP at the link below. For safety reasons, dogs and bicycles are not allowed on the decking and children must be accompanied by an adult.
