Port of Hood River Foundation

The Port of Hood River Foundation is a charitable organization established to support the governmental property of Hood River and other charitable activities that advance its mission. The Foundation was formally created on October 15, 2024, and approved by Resolution No. 2024-25-9. It operates as a nonprofit corporation under Oregon law and is organized exclusively for charitable purposes as defined by Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.

The primary mission of the Foundation is to engage in lawful activities that serve the public interest, with a focus on supporting the Port’s operations, its facilities, and its contribution to the Hood River area. Through its work, the Foundation enhances the quality of life in the region by funding initiatives that align with its charitable goals.

The Foundation is governed by a Board of Directors, which is responsible for managing its affairs and property. The Board consists of no fewer than three and no more than seven members, including key officers such as the President, Vice-President, Secretary, and Treasurer. Directors are elected for staggered terms and serve without compensation. The Board ensures transparency and accountability in its operations.
