FACILITIES MAINENTANCE WORKER
The Port of Hood River is a public agency whose mission is to support a strong quality of life and a healthy economy. The Port manages industrial and commercial properties, the Hood River Marina, Hood River Interstate Bridge, and Ken Jernstedt Airfield. The Port is directed by an elected board who seek high standards of integrity, transparency, and responsiveness.
The Port has an immediate opening for the full-time position of Facilities Maintenance Worker Level III, apprentice level for the Port’s maintenance services. The Facilities Maintenance Worker (grade 3) position works under the direction of the Facilities Maintenance Manager or Lead and performs various maintenance and repair of Port-owned properties, buildings, and facilities. Also performs some custodial activities and maintenance revisions of landscaped grounds and parks. The position requires good communication skills and the ability to interact with Port tenants, vendors, and employees to provide maintenance and some custodial and security support in all areas of Port operation. This position at times may be “On Call” and is responsible for monitoring fire alarms or other emergency building situations and may require response at all hours, day or night. The position also requires work to be performed at heights on building roofs and the ability to lift at least 50 pounds.
Interested candidates must have solid communication and technical skills as well as the ability to interact effectively with the public, businesses and public partners in a team environment. A minimum of 5 years facilities maintenance experience with good references from those positions is preferred, and candidate must be bondable.
Starting Salary: $19.73 – $26.43 per hour depending on experience. A solid benefit package is offered including comprehensive medical insurance.

BUDGET COMMITTEE VACANCY
The Port of Hood River is seeking one volunteer to fill a position on its Budget Committee. Members of the Budget Committee must be qualified voters and residents of the Port District. The Budget Committee is a statutory committee whose membership consists of the five elected members of the Port Commission and five private citizen appointees. One three-year appointment will fill a vacancy for a term that expired June 30, 2018 and continue through June 30, 2021. Budget meetings are generally held in April or early May.
